Overview

[203Pb]VMT-alpha-NET is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical that functions as a somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2) antagonist. It consists of a modified somatostatin receptor-targeted peptide (VMT-α-NET) radiolabeled with lead-203 (203Pb), a gamma-emitting radioisotope. This agent is designed for SPECT/CT imaging of neuroendocrine tumors that express somatostatin receptors. It forms an ideal theranostic pair with [212Pb]VMT-alpha-NET, which is the therapeutic counterpart used for targeted alpha particle therapy. The VMT chelator efficiently binds both 203Pb and 212Pb, making it suitable for both imaging and therapy applications. [203Pb]VMT-alpha-NET is primarily used for dosimetry and treatment planning before administering the therapeutic [212Pb]VMT-alpha-NET.
